Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is that?I'm running to lower property taxes in McHenry County. When talking to District 4 residents what they all agree is that we are all at our limits and cannot afford higher taxes. I am running to work with the board to find solutions on combining services, avoiding duplication and reallocating resources so that services are equitably distributed throughout the county.What differentiates you most from your opponents in the race?While not an incumbent, I have the necessary experience to handle the job and work with other elected and appointed officials in the county. In addition, I can offer fresh perspective to County Board because I am new to the scene and have an unvarnished perspective to issues which may come up to the Board. Since I am running un-opposed I will be able to spend time with departments and learn their workings rather than campaigning for office countless hours. However, I do plan to campaign to meet the people and learn their concerns and issues as well.If you are an incumbent describe your main contributions. Tell us about important initiatives you've led. If you are not an incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.See above in Civic InvolvementWhat should McHenry County be doing to address stormwater and flooding issues throughout the county?McHenry County needs to make sure that developers place their devilments in places which are zoned properly for those developments. Waste water considerations should be examined in accordance with Army Corps of Engineer rules and regulations. We need to make sure that no resident be impacted negatively by a new development and that all storm water mitigation issues be properly addressed and paid for by the developer prior to the development being started.Finally, is there anything we haven't asked about that you feel we should know?I would like to see about partnering with the townships to achieve greater savings for the taxpayer by avoiding duplication and eliminating waste. This can be done by utilizing facilities already in existence and maximizing their potential.
