New balloon meister takes reins at Eyes to Skies

By

Scott McClinton, of SkyCab Productions Inc. in Prospect, Ky., will serve as balloon meister for this year's Eyes to the Skies Festival running July 3 through 5 in Lisle's Community Park, Route 53 and Short Street.

McClinton has made several appearances at the Lisle festival as a pilot, but this year he will manage all balloon operations at the annual celebration. He and his staff have extensive balloon management experience, including stints at the Centennial Era Balloon Festival at the Indianapolis Speedway; the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Ga.; and the Great Midwest Balloon Fest near Kansas City, Kansas.

Meanwhile, festival organizers say a familiar voice will announce all balloon events at the festival: Glen Moyer from Keithville, La. Moyer is returning for his 15th year as the balloon field announcer.

Moyer is active in the ballooning community, serving as spokesman for the Balloon Federation of America; editor of BFA's Ballooning Magazine; and as an authority on balloon safety and pilot education, organizers say.
