Grab a glass of vino for Libertyville’s wine tasting

MainStreet Libertyville hosts its ninth annual “Let’s Wine About Winter” Saturday, Feb. 22, in the downtown area.

From 1 to 4 p.m., participating shops and restaurants invite shoppers to spend a wintry afternoon browsing the stores and enjoying the company of other wine lovers.

A $25 commemorative wineglass will be your “ticket” to this event. Also included is a $10 merchant coupon, which is redeemable at stores that participate in the event and is valid through April 30.

The wineglass can be purchased at any one of five distribution sites that day. The sites are: North Shore Pro Active Health, 112 Lake St.; Curtis Frame/Back Alley Gallery, 543 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Petranek’s Pharmacy, 426 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Milwalky Trace, 603 N. Milwaukee Ave.; and Christine Anne Couture, 324 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Glasses will only be sold at the distribution sites. Advance reservations can be made at www.mainstreetlibertyville.org. Quantities are limited.

A wine menu and map listing the participants will be available at the stores, restaurants and distribution sites. Participating stores and restaurants will display a pink sign in their windows.

“Here’s your chance to trade a shovel for a wineglass,” said Laura Comilla, the volunteer who coordinates the event.

Free parking is available at the covered parking garage on Lake Street. Consider taking the train. The Metra station is in the heart of the downtown, a short walk to participating stores and restaurants.
