Police investigating armed robbery at Glen Ellyn Pharmacy

An undetermined amount of money and pills were taken Tuesday during an armed robbery at the Glen Ellyn Pharmacy, police said. No injuries were reported.

Glen Ellyn police responded at about 5:30 p.m. to the pharmacy at 486 Roosevelt Road. Officers learned that a man entered the store, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded hydrocodone, a narcotic pain reliever that is a controlled substance, according to a news release.

After receiving the pills, the man reached into the cash register and took an undetermined amount of money, then left the store walking west.

The offender is described as a white male around 50 years old, 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a khaki-colored jacket and a blue knit cap.
