More suburban schools call off Tuesday classes

Some of the suburban school districts that took a wait-and-see approach on whether to cancel classes for a second day this week because of the dangerously cold weather have seen enough of tomorrow's forecast to make up their minds.

Barrington Unit District 220, Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211, Maine Township High School District 207 and Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 were among those announcing today that schools would be closed Tuesday due to the expected frigid temperatures.

Forecasters say temperatures overnight could drop to 15 degrees below zero, and wind chills Tuesday morning will be 30 to 45 degrees below.
