Aurora crash victim identified

An Aurora woman who died Saturday after her car was struck by an SUV has been identified.

Officials said 81-year-old Anne Janicene was driving a 2006 Honda Civic north on Eola Road around 12:30 p.m. when she apparently tried to make a left turn onto Bilter Road and was struck by a 2014 Acura SUV driven by a 39-year-old man from Long Grove.

Janicene was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to police.

Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said an autopsy on Janicene is scheduled for Monday.

Aurora police said they are looking for witnesses to the crash. Anyone who can help is asked to call Aurora Police Traffic Investigators at (630) 256-5330.
