Guest Night allows men to check out Chorus of DuPage

The Chorus of DuPage, a men’s a cappella barbershop chorus, invites men of all ages who like to sing to attend an upcoming guest night to experience how much fun it can be to sing barbershop and to perform with a chorus.

Men from teens to seniors can get a feel for what it would be like to join the chorus at a rehearsal beginning at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville.

“At the guest night I attended 12 years ago, I recall saying, ‘I haven’t sung with a group since high school,’” said Jerry Broz, now a 12-year barbershop veteran.

Since then, he reports, that at least one or two guests can be heard saying similar things at every guest night.

All male singers are welcome, be they beginners, experienced, or singers who may not have sung with a group since high school. All will have the opportunity to meet new friends, learn fun songs and improve their singing and performance skills in a casual environment.

Reservations are not required, but early check-in is encouraged.

The Chorus of DuPage is part of the DuPage Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an international singing organization with more than 25,000 men in the United States and Canada.

The chorus is one of 800 Barbershop Harmony Society men’s choruses throughout North America that meet regularly to practice, socialize, perform and sing a cappella harmony in barbershop style.
