Illinois woman's car hit in apparent Indiana road-rage shooting

State police say a driver fired several shots at a woman's car on Interstate 80/94 in northwestern Indiana in the second apparent road-rage shooting on the highway within a week.

Sgt. Ann Wojas says the 33-year-old woman from Lansing, Ill., wasn't hurt during Sunday night's shooting on the highway through Gary. Investigators found that one bullet struck her car's rear bumper and entered the trunk.

The woman told police the other driver was following her closely as she drove slowly on a Gary street because of potholes and braked to get him to back off. She said that after both cars entered westbound I-80/94, the other driver pulled alongside, fired about five shots and sped away.

Another driver suffered a non-life-threatening wound in a shooting Wednesday on I-80/94.
