Boy hurt in sledding accident in Cary

A boy hurt in a sledding accident in Cary was airlifted to a hospital on Friday afternoon, officials said.

Cary Fire Protection District Lt. Andy Veath said the accident happened at about 3:15 p.m. at Lions Park, 1200 Silver Lake Road in Cary.

Paramedics called Flight For Life for transport, which transported the boy to Advocate Lutheran General Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, said Flight For Life public information officer Tammy Chatman.

Veath said he didn’t know the age of the boy or where he was from. Chatman decline to give more details.

A message for the hospital was not returned Saturday.

Lions Park has a large hill popular for sledding, he said.
