Daily Herald report

Lake County residents have options to recycle their real, undecorated Christmas trees. In Fremont Township, trees can be dropped behind the highway department building, 22376 Erhart Road. Also, trees are being accepted at eight Lake County forest preserves. Visit www.lcfpd.org or call (847) 968-3412. Trees are being accepted at all locations until Feb. 1. Yard waste or commercial drop offs are not accepted. Donated trees will be chipped and the mulch used throughout the township and forest preserve system.
