To be good or not to be good?
A burger battle brews at Wickets Bar and Grill. Between Jan. 1 and Jan. 15, try the healthy resolution burger, a lean turkey burger with fresh sprouts, avocado served with a green salad, for $10; or the anti-resolution burger, 10-ounces slathered with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon and hot chili served with cheese fries, for $11.50. Vote on Wickets' Facebook page. The winning burger becomes a permanent menu item.
Wickets Bar and Grill at the Streets of Woodfield, 601 N. Martingale, Suite 100, Schaumburg. (847) 619-1400 or wicketsbarandgrill.com.

Shaw's crab fest
Throughout January, stop in Shaw's Crab House for its annual crab festival featuring crabcakes, red Alaskan king crab, and golden Alaskan king crab. Prix fixe dinners include a choice of Maryland-style crabcakes, for $33; or the one-pound Alaskan golden king crab dinner, for $48. Both come with a cup of clam chowder, coleslaw, au gratin potatoes and a slice of key lime pie.
Shaw's Crab House, 1900 Higgins Road, Schaumburg. (847) 517-2722 or shawscrabhouse.com.
