Still no answer about Obama Africa trip
I have heard the word “transparency” used by our administration multiple times, but I don’t find it to be true.
I have been trying to find out how much the president’s family trip to Africa cost.
This would include the Secret Service, the planes involved, and the Obama entourage.
I have seen estimates from $50 to $80 million.
I contacted Bill Foster’s office, they don’t know.
I contacted Dick Durbin’s office, they don’t know.
I contacted the White House, they could not give me an answer.
I contacted the Department of Management and Budgeting, and they don’t know.
All of the above are supposed to represent me. They should be able to come up with a reasonable answer to a pretty straight question.
Let’s take the $50 million and divide it by $676 — that’s the cost of feeding one person for a year at a local food pantry. At that rate the $50 million would feed 73,964 people for a year.
Why can’t the press get an answer? Is our government getting so far from us that they don’t feel obliged to respond to us in a quick and honest answer?
Evidently not.
