A package of seven gold Swiss Francs were dropped in a Salvation Army kettle outside a Jewel Food Store in Libertyville on Wednesday, the charitable group said. They were accompanied by an anonymous, handwritten note, leading officials to suspect the same person made similar donations in previous years. So far this season, 19 gold coins worth more than $10,493 have been donated to the Salvation Army in Lake County.
