Rauner is candidate who can fix Illinois

Illinois is in a dire situation right now. Under our current excuse for a governor, Pat Quinn, we have seen increased taxes, fleeing businesses and the worst unemployment rate in the Midwest. We need a governor to sort out the corruption, inefficiency, and stagnation in our current government, and I think the solution is Bruce Rauner.

While it may be even before the Republican primaries, I have been researching this race extensively, and believe Rauner is by far the best candidate. What Illinois needs right now is new leadership that can steer us in the right direction, but won’t then remain in power to corrupt, as power always does. As Rauner doesn’t have a vested interest in staying governor, I believe he is the perfect way to pass term limits and pass the tough reforms that are going to bring businesses back to Illinois and revitalize our economy.

What we don’t need is another long-term governor that will cling so dearly to getting re-elected they ignore these vital issues for fear of rejection by some groups.

Additionally, it’s not just his economic logic and business experience that can help Illinois, but also his proposed educational reform. As a student, I appreciate and strongly favor his position of school choice and local autonomy, in addition to his belief that we should employ only the top performing teachers, not keep low performers simply because of tenure.

Additionally, his plan to funnel funds more to the classroom and less to the educational bureaucracy is so obvious, but yet overlooked by most.

I believe that with Rauner’s leadership, we can fix Illinois. His focus on the economy, education and government reform are much needed, and will help us move forward.
