Antioch superintendent to resign in June

Antioch Elementary School District 34 Superintendent Gregory Buchanan will resign effective June 30, 2014, district officials said in a news release on Wednesday night.

The school board accepted Buchanan’s resignation at its meeting this week.

According to the release, the board is moving forward immediately with the search firm Exec Connect to find a successor.

District officials “look forward to engaging all stakeholders to assist in this important decision for Antioch School District 34,” according to the release.

Buchanan was hired by District 34 in 2010, previously serving as the assistant superintendent of Woodstock Community School District 200 before that. He was originally hired at a salary of $189,000 annually.
