Ready to boycott stores open on holiday

In response to Shawn Groom from Palatine (Your Views, Nov. 15). I am so glad that you took a stand for the retail workers who are forced to work on Thanksgiving Day. There is nothing one needs to run out for on Thanksgiving night that you probably don’t already have or that the person you are shopping for really needs.

If we all try to remember what the day is about — family, friends, love and memories — that is all we need. One never knows if this is the last holiday season you will have with a loved one. Don’t take those memories from these retail workers on Thanksgiving Day.

And as a final point, I for one will not shop at any of these stores during the holiday season that make their employees work on Thanksgiving.
