Thanks for NIU; what about EIU?

text size: AAA

In addition to Northern Illinois University and Jordan Lynch, Illinois has another successful top ranked team and quarterback but doesn't get the attention it deserves in the Daily Herald Sports section. Eastern Illinois University has a 9-1 record and is currently ranked second in the nation in the FCS.

Their offense is ranked first in the nation among FCS teams. Their QB, Jimmy Garoppolo, from Rolling Meadows leads the FCS Division 1AA teams in passing with 3,843 total yards and 40 TDs for the season. He also has over 105 career TDs. He is among the top 10 QB prospects for the NFL draft next spring.

I really like the way you are now covering NIU, but why doesn't your newspaper mention EIU and Jimmy Garoppolo more?
