Lawmakers didn’t think through gay marriage vote

What did our Illinois lawmakers vote for when they jumped on the bandwagon to redefine marriage? Look at the results in Massachusetts and you will see.

The legislature voted for increased intimidation, bullying, and general hostility toward students, teachers and parents who don’t embrace the sin of homosexuality. They also voted for an increasing negative impact on conservative religions, politics, the media, public health, hospitals, domestic violence, business and employment, law and the judicial system and virtually everything in the “public square.”

Every one of these was impacted negatively in Massachusetts, producing a more oppressive society with a loss of personal liberties. We can expect that those same unintended consequences will soon be seen here in Illinois. It’s a simple case of cause and effect.

It looks like our representatives listened to the emotional appeals of lobbyists rather than doing their “homework” by researching the impact of this sort of legislation in other states. Due diligence was apparently not employed, and it shows!
