Man dies after driving into Lake Michigan
Authorities say a man has died after driving his car into a Lake Michigan harbor in downtown Chicago.
Fire Department officials say the crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. They say the man’s vehicle was traveling on Lake Shore Drive when it made a sharp turn, drove over the sidewalk, down a set of stairs and into the water.
Divers pulled the man from the submerged vehicle, but he was later pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Investigators haven’t released the man’s name or said what caused him to drive into the water.
