Nine people, including four police officers, were hurt during a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Chicago's far South Side.

Authorities say the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday when a car slammed into an unmarked squad car, which had pulled over an SUV for a traffic stop. Police spokesman Hector Alfaro says the unmarked squad car then struck the SUV, which in turn hit a second patrol car that was at the scene.
