Father killed, 3 children hurt in Wisconsin crash

HUDSON, Wis. (AP) — Three children are recovering from a car crash that took the life of their father in western Wisconsin.

Wisconsin transportation officials say 38-year-old Scott Shoemaker, of Black River Falls, was killed when he missed a stop sign on Old Highway 35 near Hudson Saturday and crashed into an oncoming minivan.

Shoemaker’s two daughters, ages 12 and 16, and his 14-year-old son were taken to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities. The St. Paul Pioneer Press says the driver of the minivan was taken to a hospital in Hudson. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
