Wheelchair basketball tournament

Joy of the Game in Deerfield hosts Hoops for Hope 2013: a 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball tournament, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event, which is at Joy of the Game, 158 S. Waukegan Road, benefits the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled (ISCD) and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). Hoops for Hope includes youth and adult divisions, and invites disabled, and able-bodied athlete alike, to participate regardless of any previous wheelchair basketball experience. The event is a day of fun for the entire family, featuring face painting and a bounce house among the many family activities available. Admission is $10, children 12 and under are free. Team entry fees are $50 per team.
