Three injured in Antioch crash

Three people were injured Friday afternoon in a multivehicle crash on Route 173 in Antioch, authorities said.

Two cars and a semitrailer truck were involved in the collision at 2101 E. Route 173 that was reported to authorities at 4:26 p.m., according to Antioch Deputy Fire Chief Chris Lienhardt.

Two people from one vehicle and one person from the other vehicle were transported to local hospitals with injuries described as “noncritical,” Lienhardt said. The driver of the semitruck was not injured.

Upon arrival to the scene, Lienhardt said, authorities saw one vehicle that was off to the side of the road with heavy damage, a minivan with heavy damage, and the semitruck with moderate damage.

Route 173 was closed down for about an hour as authorities investigated the crash. It’s unclear how the crash occurred.
