Citizens must be better informed

I have read a recent article about how people don’t know much about Obamacare or the fact that it is called the Affordable Care Act. This article showed how people are not well-informed about the main issue in Congress and the shutdown.

With all this information, it has really made me question the country’s ability to access the means of the shutdown and of the law itself. I believe that our country has to stop being lazy and relying on the media to understand the government and what is going on in it.

This can be seen with people not knowing that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are one and the same. Without knowing what the Affordable Care Act is and what it does, how can we except people to have an true opinions on the issue to inform their representatives of their wants?

I think the people of our country should start informing themselves of the things going on in government so they can influence our representatives and make the government more on the people’s want and less with the party’s wants.
