People have spoken on health care

The House of Representatives has now attempted 43 times to torpedo the Affordable Care Act by repeal or defunding at a cost of over $3 million per day to conduct congressional business, and does so knowing the Senate will not approve such legislation nor would President Obama sign it.

Given such opposition to the Affordable Care Act it’s clear a disinformation campaign has been in progress by those opposing it. However it should be noted those same people have no replacement nor want one. There is no moral reason to oppose ACA and America remains the only highly developed nation without a national health care system.

Before ACA a family health insurance policy was around $1,500 per month, or $18,000 per year. How many families can afford that particularly on today’s corporate low wage model?

Which features do House Republicans object to?

Coverage to tens of millions of Americans who otherwise would not have health care?

Significant reduction of insurance rates for consumers?

Eliminating the “doughnut hole” Republicans intentionally left in their prescription drug plan of 2004?

Keeping children insured until age 26?

Preventing insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions?

Providing preventive care coverage at 100 percent?

Reimbursing customers for excessive costs where an insurance company spends more than 20 percent of premiums on overhead?

Anyone opposing ACA opposes health care for their fellow countrymen, and depriving people of health care is the definition of a death panel.

Don’t let House Republicans hold a continuing resolution needed to fund government hostage because they cannot accept the fact that ACA was passed by congress, signed by the president into law, upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, and was the main issue behind President Obama’s re-election victory. The American people have spoken.
