Risk of injury weighs on sports
In the present day and age, sports are requiring bigger, faster and stronger athletes compared with any given time in the past.
Most high school athletics are beginning to promote year-round training in a single sport. Unfortunately this training begins for the child at a young age, put there sometimes by their parents and leading them to play into their adulthood.
With this progress with America’s athletic system, there have been outbursts of dangerous injuries and in some cases casualties. Fortunately, all of these sports injuries are completely preventable.
A way to decrease the amount of overuse injuries and trauma in all sports is through proper training, correct equipment and early detection of the injuries.
Kids are becoming more serious about playing sports, and even more are wanting to play at the college level, but a tremendous number of athletes are sidelined due to injuries and lack of treatment on the field. The benefits from playing contact sports are becoming harder to receive and a risk for your health.
The risk is beginning to outweigh the want to play.
