We still need answers from Metra

The Daily Herald publishes regular “Guest Views.” Some make us slightly better informed, but most are just ads for whatever political organization the writer has an affiliation with. Case in point, the Sept. 29 guest appearance by the interim executive director of Metra, Don Orseno. He talked about the dedicated people at Metra and all the fine work they are doing.

Don, nobody cares. We are still waiting for answers to our questions about your predecessor who was hired to “root out corruption” and was bought off when he refused to play politics or his predecessor who committed suicide when he was discovered with his hand in the “cookie jar.”

Last week we found out that two former politicians are going to jail. That’s a start. Let’s demand that we get someone other than Lisa Madigan to look at this corruption scandal and her father’s involvement. Come on, Daily Herald, let’s do some old fashioned “muckraking.”
