Acclaimed storyteller to present Volo Bog Ghost Stories
Volo Bog Ghost Stories welcomes internationally acclaimed storyteller Syd Lieberman Saturday, Oct. 12.
In its 28th year, Volo Bog’s Ghost Stories continues a long tradition. Gathered in the cold, dark picnic area just over the hill from Volo Bog State Natural Area, 28478 W. Brandenburg Road in Ingleside, listeners hear hair-raising tales.
A haunted trail, bog tours and milk jug luminaries will be featured from 5 to 6:50 p.m. Stories will be told from 7 to 9 p.m. Doughnuts, taffy apples, hot cocoa and cider will be available for sale. The event is sponsored by Friends of Volo Bog. Requested minimum donation is $5 for adults and $2 for children.

Lieberman is known for his varied repertoire. Many of his best-loved stories deal with growing up and raising a family in Chicago. He is also known for his original historical pieces and his signature versions of literary tales, especially those of Edgar Allan Poe.
He is one of the country’s leading tellers of Jewish tales and appeared with Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary fame in the Chicago presentation of Do-It-Yourself Hanukkah.
Lieberman has appeared at major storytelling festivals across the country.
