Suspicious package halts Metra UP North trains

Outbound Metra commuters on three Union Pacific North Line trains had a frustrating morning as police investigated a suspicious package.

The package was reported at about 9:20 a.m. Friday at the Lake Forest station, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.

The stopped trains include No. 336 at the Great Lakes station, No. 334 at the Lake Bluff station and No. 319 at the Highwood station, which is now on the move again. Delays are ranging up to 90 minutes.
