Judge to rule Nov. 14 on proposed Huntley hospital

A ruling whether Centegra Health System will be allowed to build a hospital in Huntley might come next month.

Will County Circuit Court Judge Bobbi Petrungaro plans to rule Nov. 14 on the lawsuit filed by Advocate and Mercy health systems against the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board and Centegra over the proposed hospital.

The parties are expected to file briefs before the hearing date. The health facilities board in July 2012 approved the proposed 128-bed, $233 million Centegra Hospital-Huntley, to be located on Reed and Haligus roads.

The final plan for the hospital is expected to go before the Huntley plan commission and village board for review in November. The hospital is planned to open in September 2016.
