Law denies religious freedom

Regarding a letter Sept. 24 in support of gay marriage:

As law for civil union stands now any pastor, priest, rabbi or other cleric would be required to violate their church laws and their beliefs. There will be prosecutions, fines and arrests if they refuse to perform such services.

Where are their rights to religious freedom?

Let the states do what they wish but exempt those whose beliefs would be compromised.
