Humperdinck cancels again at Minnesota casino

MINNEAPOLIS — Health issues have forced British crooner Engelbert Humperdinck to cancel two shows, including an already rescheduled appearance at a Minnesota casino.

The Mystic Lake Casino confirmed Thursday that the 77-year-old Humperdinck has scrapped Friday’s show. That performance had been intended as a replacement for a May 11 show that was canceled due to what his manager called “a medical emergency.”

Humperdinck’s Facebook page says he called off the Sept. 27 performance because of “a trapped nerve in his neck.” His website says an appearance in Thunder Bay, Ontario scheduled for Sept. 28 is also canceled.

Humperdinck is working on a duet album, featuring Elton John, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Willie Nelson and Gene Simmons of Kiss.

Mystic Lake Casino lies 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
