Arlington Heights man charged with sexually assaulting a child

A 39-year-old Arlington Heights man faces charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl earlier this year.

Julio Flores-Robles has been in Cook County jail on a $300,000 bond since his arrest last week on a warrant.

Cook County prosecutors say the assault occurred in May.

The child told her mother, who confronted Flores-Robles. Flores-Robles denied the allegation, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Catherine Levine. The girl also told her father’s girlfriend, who informed the girl’s father, who took the child to the hospital and contacted police, Levine said.

If convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault, Flores-Robles could face from six to 30 years in prison.

He next appears in court on Oct. 10.
