Children's musician Jim Gill to perform in Naperville

Award-winning children's musician Jim Gill will launch the DuPage Children's Museum's Tiny Great Performances season with a benefit concert from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Washington Junior High School Cafetorium, 201 N. Washington St., Naperville.

Restoration Community Church of Naperville is sponsoring the Jim Gill's Contagious Tunes Tour concert with all revenues benefiting Bridge Communities, a nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing and programs to assist homeless families. The cost is $3 a person. Seating is picnic style, so the audience is advised to bring blankets or mats to sit on.

“We're thrilled to launch the Tiny Great Performances 2013-2014 season with a performer of the stature and popularity of Jim Gill,” said Marcia MacRae, DuPage Children's Museum public programs manager.

“Jim is a longtime friend of the museum who shares our passion for bringing families together to play and learn. The energy at all of his concerts is truly contagious — children and adults join together to sing, dance, clap and enjoy his unique songs and performance.”

Gill creates an opportunity for family fun at his shows. As a child development specialist, he focuses his concerts on creating playful interaction opportunities for children and parents. More information on Jim Gill can be found at www.jimgill.com.

The concert's sponsor, Restoration Community Church of Naperville, has partnered with the museum for several years to organize a benefit concert to support family-focused charities.
