A rep who cares about veterans

I wanted to write to thank State Rep. Stephanie Kifowit for her support for the veteran in the community. I am an older veteran, and it is refreshing to see younger veterans, like Representative Kifowit, who served in the United States Marine Corps, take the lead in being there for us.

She has done an excellent job of making sure veterans are provided with the services they need. For example, the Women Veteran’s Fair she hosted provided a lot of information for all veterans. I have also been impressed with several bills that she had in Springfield that help not only veterans here, but in the whole state.

I just found out that Rep. Kifowit is having a Veterans Roundtable Discussion and I want to tell all my veteran friends that I think they should go. This round-table is from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Eola Branch of the Aurora Library. I know it will be a good event because she is always available to not only veterans but to my neighbors as well.

It’s reassuring to know that veterans have a representative like Stephanie, who truly cares about improving their lives. I look forward to working with her in the future to make sure that veterans have access to the services as support that they deserve.
