New England Revolution at Chicago Fire

When: 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Park

TV: Channel 50

Scouting the New England Revolution: The Revs (10-10-7, 37 points) own the fifth and final playoff spot for now, tied with Houston and just 1 point in front of the seventh-place Fire. Goalkeeper Matt Reis, a longtime Fire nemesis, is suspended, but backup Bobby Shuttleworth has been very capable. Youngster Diego Fagundez leads the team in goals with 10.

Scouting the Fire: The Fire (10-11-6, 36 points) is in what Mike Magee called “a frustrating stretch.” The Fire has never been as high as fifth place this season but can finally get there by ending the frustration and getting a victory. Midfielders Arevalo Rios and Joel Lindpere are due back from international duty.

Next: at Columbus Crew, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Crew Stadium
