Cubs to visit Yankees, Red Sox in 2014

The Cubs will open the 2014 regular season in Pittsburgh on March 31 and come home later that week for the Wrigley Field opener on Friday, April 4, against the Phillies.

The schedule, released Tuesday, has the Cubs visiting Boston’s Fenway Park for the second time in four years. The Cubs will play the Red Sox at Fenway, June 30-July 2. The two clubs played a three-game series at Fenway in 2011, marking the Cubs’ first regular-season games at that historic park.

The Cubs get two looks at the New York Yankees. They’ll play their first regular-season games at new Yankee Stadium April 15 and 16. The Yankees come to Wrigley Field May 20-21.

In other interleague action, the Cubs and White Sox again play on four straight days. They’ll start May 5-6 at Wrigley Field before moving to U.S. Cellular Field on the South Side for a pair, May 7-8.

The Tampa Bay Rays of the AL visit Wrigley Aug. 8-10. The Baltimore Orioles come in Aug. 22-24. The Cubs visit Toronto Sept. 8-10.

The regular season ends for the Cubs Sept. 26-28 at Milwaukee. This will be the second consecutive year they open in Pittsburgh.
