Dining events: Polka time is upon us

Arena's rib night

Every Wednesday is rib night at Arena Sports Grille in Elmhurst. Get a full slab of baby back ribs with potato salad for $13. Add a nice cool drink to the order with $6 Miller pitchers or $3 Long Islands.

Its polka time!

Get your polka on at Glenview House's Oktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in a tent in the parking lot west of the building. Drink Hacker-Pschorr, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest and Sam Adams Oktoberfest by the liter for $12 or half-liter for $6. Bavarian food specialties include $5 brats, $7 giant pretzels and $8 German plates of brats, potato salad and sauerkraut. Die Musikmeisters play German music. Free admission. Commemorative cups $2.

Waterleaf fest

Enjoy Waterleaf Restaurant's second annual food and wine festival from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the patio and gardens area adjacent to Waterleaf. The fest features more than 100 uncommon wines paired with food stations by Waterleaf chef Nadia Tilkian and pastries and specialty pizzas made by College of DuPage culinary students. $40 per person at the door.
