The police, Lake Zurich Fire Department and Citizens Emergency Response Team responded with Nicor to the area where the leak was detected in Kildeer about 9:30 a.m., Lake Zurich Fire Lt. David Pilgard said.

Quentin Road was closed between Cuba Road and Route 12 to keep motor vehicles from becoming an ignition source for the natural gas, Pilgard said. But no homes were evacuated.
