District 204 students score composite 24.1 on ACT

Indian Prairie Unit District 204’s class of 2013 scored a composite 24.1 on the ACT college entrance exam, according to data released this week by the testing organization.

For the first time this year, composite results included scores of students who were allowed extra time to complete the test, which district officials said makes it difficult to compare to previous years.

Without the scores of students who were allowed extra time, District 204’s composite was 24.6 — up from last year’s 24.2 on the exam, which is graded on a 36-point scale.

District 204’s score of 24.1 exceeds the state average of 20.6 and the national average of 20.9.

The district covers portions of Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook and Plainfield.
