There’s great pro sports value in suburbs

Wouldn’t it be great if you could go see a professional sports team where the players play with joy and integrity for the game, the quality of play is championship caliber, the stadium is impeccable, every seat a great view, and reasonably priced?

The night my daughter and I saw such a team, they honored octogenarian pioneers of their sport, with players and fans alike treating them like rock stars.

After the game, my daughter got an autograph from every player on the team. Yes, every player! And those players were downright cheerful!

The present day icon of the sport was also in town to put on an instructional camp for young athletes. This icon not only signed autographs and took pictures, but gave hands-on instructions to the campers.

The icon, an Olympic gold and silver medalist, also advised the campers that having high moral standards would be crucial to facing the many opportunities and struggles they will face in life.

The icon was Jennie Finch, the sport is Professional Fastpitch Softball, and the team is the Chicago Bandits.

You will find them tucked between I-294 and O’Hare in Rosemont, and whether you go with family or friends, you will find them to be the best bargain in town.
