Just Duckies store opens in Arlington Heights

Just Duckies, a new gift and party store located at 42222 N. Arlington Heights Road in the Terramere shopping center in north Arlington Heights, is holding its grand opening Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17.

The gift shop just sells ducks — Bud Ducks, collectible, affordable, bold and bubbly rubber ducks in hundreds of different styles from divas to punk rockers to paparazzi. Other merchandise includes duck-themed clothing, children's toys, and candy items. Just Duckies also has a private party room.

Just Duckies was conceived by owner Dawn Deutsch while searching for a rubber duck for one of her children last year. She couldn't fine rubber ducks anywhere in the Northwest suburbs, located the Bud Duck product line, and knew immediately that she wanted to open her own store.

“Our goal is to bring little pieces of nostalgic joy into our customers' lives,” store general manager Margaret Salata said. Information is at justduckies.com.
