More rookie honors for Sky’s Delle Donne
For the second straight month, the Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne has been named Rookie of the Month, WNBA officials announced Monday.
During July, Delle Donne led all rookies in scoring (16.4 ppg), free throw percentage (. 909, 40-for-44), minutes (30.8 mpg), blocks (1.6 bpg), and ranked second in rebounds (5.4 rpg). Overall, the 6-foot-five swing player placed eighth in scoring, seventh in free throw percentage, and second in blocks. Delle Donne recorded her first double-double of the season with a career-high 12 rebounds along with 12 points in a 69-60 loss to Seattle on July 2. The Delaware native also matched a career high four blocks in back-to-back victories over the New York Liberty on July 18 and 20.

Ÿ July 12 vs. Connecticut: 23 points on 9-for-9 free throw shooting in an 83-70 win.
Ÿ July 18 vs. New York: Tied a career high four blocks along with 23 points and six rebounds in a 75-55 win.
