About this Article

Family and friends gathered Sunday to remember Bob Quig, founder of Quig Orchard, who died June 1 at age 89. Quig operated his iconic apple orchard and restaurant in Mundelein for half a century. "My father was someone who loved to be surrounded by people," his son, Alan Quig, told the guests as his voice cracked emotion. "As the family grew, the business did, too. He loved his customers and they loved him right back."
