At least know what fireworks are about
Boy am I glad the Fourth of July is over. I thought that fireworks were illegal in Illinois. In my neighborhood people started shooting off fireworks two weeks ahead of the celebration. They on the Fourth they really let loose.
I have two issues. Why do the law enforcement officials allow this to happen every year? A law which is not really a law.
I was told that so many people say they do it to celebrate the holiday. “What holiday?” I asked. They said, “Independence Day.” I replied, “Independence from what?” They either said, “I don’t really know,” or they said independence from slavery. If they are going to celebrate with fireworks, they at least should know the reason.
