DTA Wildcats claimed the trophy with a big 12-4 victory over the Midwest Phillies in the championship game. Outstanding defense, dominating pitching and timely hitting were the keys to success for the DTA Wildcats throughout the weekend. Early tournament pool wins propelled the Wildcats to a 3–1 record with the one loss in the bottom of the 7th to the highly ranked Springfield Statesmen being the only thing that kept the Wildcats from the #1 seed for the second week in a row. The 3–1 record allowed the Wildcats to get into the championship bracket with the #8 seed. The team continued to dominate with wins over the #1 seed Kenosha Indians and the #3 seed St. Louis Gamers in the quarter-final and semi-final games moving them into the championship game.
The 6–1 record over the weekend advances the DTA Wildcats record to 12-1-1 on the season.
