Lake Forest Academy raises $1.5 million during Spring Gala

Submitted by Lake Forest Academy

More than 250 members of the Lake Forest Academy community gathered for the school’s 12th annual Spring Gala in May. Generosity abounded as all came together to raise a record-breaking $1.5 million.

The funds will be used to transform the existing academic space into six classrooms equipped with leading-edge technologies; common and study spaces for students to gather, collaborate and create; and a state-of-the-art media commons. This renovated space, along with the new Science Center will enhance the student experience and ensure Lake Forest Academy remains a premiere independent high school.

Both spaces will be ready for use in August 2013 at the beginning of the school year. The spaces are part of LFA’s comprehensive campaign, The Campaign for LFA, which, to this day, has raised more than $50 million in support of the school’s 2008 strategic plan.

The Spring Gala continues to provide the school an opportunity to address an immediate need. Past projects, among others, have included the renovation of Upper Korhumel classrooms, faculty housing, athletic fields and campus safety. The evening’s success is a testament to the strength of the entire LFA community and the generosity of the school’s many supporters for which the school’s students, faculty and staff are tremendously grateful.
