Buffalo Grove celebrates Flag Day

Flag Day is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for the flag, its designers and makers. The flag is representative of independence and unity as a nation with a proud history.

Buffalo Grove was among the places that held a Flag Day ceremony last Friday. The ceremony was held at Veterans Park, 1300 N. Weiland Road.

More than 100 people attended as members of the Armed Forces raised a flag for each of the five branches of the service and they heard a history read of each of the flags. The guest speaker was Col. Tom Cogdall United States Army.

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department's Honor Guard presented the colors.
