Tayler Scott worked a solid 723 innings, and Albert Almora provided plenty of offens to lift the Kane County Cougars to a 4-1 victory over the Burlington Bees on Thursday at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva.

Scott (4-2) held the Bees (24-37) to 2 hits during the longest outing of the season by any pitcher for the Cougars (29-34). Sherman Johnson walked in the fourth and scored on Wade Hinkle's double for the only Bees run.

In the Cougars' third, Bijan Rademacher walked and scored on Almora's triple to right-center

In the fifth, Brad Zapenas led off with a single and took third on a throwing error by Bees starter and loser Alex Keudell (4-3). After another Rademacher walk, Almora drove home Zapenas with a single.

In the seventh, Rademacher singled with one out and scored from first on Almora's double to the left-field corner. Almora scored on a groundout.

Scott was pulled with two outs and the bases empty in the eighth after he retired 10 straight Bees. Stephen Perakslis earned his second save.

The Cougars host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers today at 6:30 p.m. Left-hander Michael Heesch starts for the Cougars.
