Does church really need more parking?

For 31 years I have lived down the street from the Orchard Evangelical Free Church. I have watched the church expand and replace two homes with additional parking.

I regularly work on Sundays and when I drive past the Douglas Avenue parking lot at 12:45 p.m. it is virtually empty and all I can think is, really? Really?

They want to tear down eight lovely homes with beautiful trees and foliage to add additional parking which would mainly be used for four hours on a Sunday morning, replacing it with a large asphalt plot that would sit empty a majority of the time.

Again, really? Really? Be a good neighbor and offer three services instead of two and use the money that would be spent on the project more wisely to support the church’s many other missions.
